Jesus is what a human being looks like when she or he is filled head to toe with God. When we see Jesus, we realize just something about how distorted our own world is. And would rather not know. What distortion does Jesus reveal about the world to you?
Many times, the people who have the most to lose reject Jesus's vision of the world. However, the people who have nothing to lose are the ones who say - "This makes sense." How much do you have to lose? What stands in the way of it making sense to you? When in your life has it made sense and what was going on in your life at the time?
For our prayer station, we will reflect upon a poem that talks about how Jesus turns the world upside down. What we thought was taken, is given. What we thought was dead, lives. God's wholeness is a white flag over the battle of our minds. Consider what is feeding the battle that rages in your mind. Is it possible that Jesus's alternative worldview offers you a window out of your own internal imprisonment?
About Our Current Aerator Series - The Wild Journey of Faith in Jesus
Following Jesus means to follow a “nobody” from “nowhere.” It is a search for purpose and meaning in the events and choices of our lives. It is a costly journey with an unknown destination.
Jesus invites us to be a part of his story. It seems to require so much sacrifice on our hearts, so some might wonder, "Is it really worth it?"
We will not make light of the time questions of faith. We don't want to give you a definitive answer because you deserve to make the journey yourself.
Following Jesus is an invitation to go on a wild journey. What else could be better in life?
